Play Date With Nora

February has been a pretty busy month for me socially. I've had a lot of fun so far and am looking forward to my 9 month birthday next month.

Last night was especially fun because my family and I went over to my friend Nora's and she played with me the entire time! She likes to share her toys and dolls. She especially likes princesses and castles. She has the coolest toys ever. Mommy says that's because her parents are super cool! They gave me a really cool toy--a Musical Table from Leap Frog. It's just like Nora's. We both played music at the same time together on hers. FUN!

Nora also has a pretty doggie named Guiness. He is well behaved and very fun. Next time we visit, we'll have to bring our doggie Lexie.

My Friend Camila's 1st Year Birthday Bash!

My new friend Camila had her first year birthday bash yesterday. It was a lot of fun!

My mommy and daddy and I met Camila and her mommy (Ronit) along with another baby (Daniel) and his  mommy (Adrianna) at our favorite Barnes and Nobles bookstore (in Clarendon). All three of our families enjoy hanging out near the train set and reading books together.

Here are some pictures of the party to enjoy! Happy Birthday Camila y Feliz Cumpleanos!

I'm 8 Months Old Today!

Hi Everyone! I turned 8 months old today! I'm crawling, standing up on my own, trying to boogie when I hear music--especially classical music. I'm eating solids twice a day, but my primary source of food is my bottle. I'm learning how to wave hi and bye and I understand the word no. I also know how to roll my r's, as in rrrrrrrrojo. Mommy is trying to post a video up of me crawling for you guys, but for some reason the feature is down right now, so check back in a couple of days and it should be up! Until then, here are some snapshots from my birthday week! There is even one of me crying after my parents took the tv remote control away from me.

Ella Crawls for First Time!

Hi! It's Superbowl Sunday and I decided to show Mommy and Daddy that I know how to crawl. I don't know why they think it's a big deal that I crawl by the time I'm 8 months old. I think it's because I heard them say a few of my other friends around my age started crawling at like 5 or 6 months. Whatever! I've been rocking back and forth on my hands and knees for a while now.

I'm not sure if my parents jumping up and down is because of me or because of the Superbowl Game. I had never heard my dad shout so much and get excited and say the word "Yippee" until today. So, I just don't know.

Here is a video clip of my very first day crawling! Just press Play and Enjoy!

My First Snowfall!

Mommy just informed me that it's snowing outside today. Look how happy I am! I am a little under the weather today with a stomach virus. But, my spirits are really high and I can't wait to see what's she's talking about. She bundled me up in my Eskimo bunting coat and took me outside to feel the crisp winter air and the snow crystals lick my face. My doggie Lexie stood by the door anxiously waiting to go in.

Inauguration Eve

Brrrr! It is cold outside here in Washington DC! My parents took me to the U.S. Capitol on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to celebrate his Birthday and the fact that his dream has come true!
We walked right in front of the US Capitol where we were able to take a few pictures less than 12 hours before the swearing in of President Barack Obama.

My parents bundled me up in 2 layers of clothing plus my coat, my hat, mittens, socks and booties, a blanket and the cozy afghan that my Grandmother Talan made for me. My parents bought a waterproof fleeced lined nylon baby carrier cover to go over my stroller for the winter. It is very similar to a sleeping bag.

The weather was 18 degrees outdoors, but it felt nice and cozy for me. It was better for us to go stand on the grounds were history was made the night before than to bear the cold for hours upon hours on the day of....

My First Party!

My friend Kate Greenaway turned 1 year old this weekend. Her parents threw her a really nice birthday bash! There were four of us babies that were all born in 2008 and whose parents attended college at Bowling Green State University. There was Kate, Charlotte, Sophia and me, Ella. I'm the youngest baby.

Kate was really festive and had a lot of toys for all of us babies to play with while our parents caught up and enjoyed delicious food and cupcakes. My favorite toy was Kate's Sesame Street remote control by Fisher Price. Here is a picture of me and Kate playing with the toy together.

Mommy tried to get all four of us babies together to take a picture. The picture above is the best she could get.
