Curious LIttle Ella

Happy Autumn! I'm learning so many things right now!  I love looking at the changing leaves on all the trees outdoors. I discovered that I like ceiling fans during a visit with my friend Charlotte a couple weekends ago.  I like feeling the wind against my face while I'm out for a stroll in my Baby Bjorn. I prefer being in my baby carrier over being pushed in my infant stroller, The Snap N Go.  I don't like riding backwards and I'll throw a little tantrum until my parents face me forward.  I really like people too. I smile at everyone who smiles at me. I even smile at posters or books with smiley people. I definitely got that from my mommy. My scope of vision has developed quite nicely. I am finally noticing our little long haired chihuahua doggie named Lexie. I like to watch her run around. I'm trying to learn to crawl and have a blast during "Tummy Time". I can hold myself up for at least ten minutes before I get tired.  I'm also talking a lot more. I especially get inspired to babble after a book reading. I make all kinds of different sounds and giggle out loud now. I'm grasping onto things better. I especially enjoy playing with my rattles that my Grandmother Talan gave me. My friend Rich gave me my first dolly named Princess that he sent me from Disney World. I love her! I'm learning how to hug her with my hands and arms. Here are a few snapshots from this week!

My First "Play Date"

This is my friend Charlotte Malcomson. She just turned 6 months old on Sunday. Happy 6 month Birthday Charlotte!

Charlotte is a really happy baby and very fun to be around. Looky, we're almost the same height and size!

I'm 3 Months Old Already!

Wow! Time really does fly! I weigh 12 pounds and am 23 inches tall. That's almost 2 feet tall! Can you believe it? My parents can't. I've been trying to pull myself up to a sitting position for a couple of weeks. My parents have noticed me trying to practice this a lot lately. I like to pull myself up with the straps on my infant car seat when we're going for car rides. I also do it during stroller rides, during diaper changes and also in my cradle when I wake up. I'm having a lot of fun.
I'm beginning to babble a little more--especially in the morning. Mommy thinks I'm a "morning person" like she is. I've created a pretty nice schedule for myself. I usually start my day at 6:30 AM and go to sleep for the night around 10 PM. I manage to take 3 one hour naps a day and sometimes I'll sneak in two additional ten minute "power naps". Mommy reads books to me every morning, then she takes me and our doggie Lexie on an hour long walk and names everything she thinks I can see. Afterwards, I usually get a nice afternoon bath. After my afternoon nap and feeding, Mommy practices her Spanish with flashcards. She's hoping I'll learn Spanish with her.  After that, we practice a "Mommy and Me Yoga class" that Mommy makes up every afternoon. I get to practice "tummy time" and try learning to crawl. I enjoy a variety of fun activities to keep me busy. My parents are planning some field trips to the Smithsonian Institute soon.
