We finally had an opportunity to take both of the kids to our favorite city for a weekend. It went really well. Logan is a very laid back, "go with the flow" baby and Ella is a "take charge, can't miss the action" toddler. We stayed in the Battery Park/Financial District for the first time ever. It was fantastic because we discovered that it was the most conducive area to raising young children and having a family. There were lots of little parks within walking distance of our hotel. And all of the restaurants seem to cater to those with strollers and small kids. There were two parks in particular that were our favorites. Hudson River Park and the Kiddie Park inside of the large park. There was also a small Water Park with a very long slide only two and half blocks from the Embassy Suites (where we stayed). Here are some pictures of Ella and Daddy Dave enjoying the water during this perfect weather weekend!
While visiting, we took both of our children to all of "staples" like The Time Warner Center, Jean George for Sunday Brunch--where the Rapper, T.I. walked across the restaurant on his way out to compliment how "great" Logan was being inside the restaurant. He said "What's up 'Little Man'" and that nickname has kind of stuck ever since. The Jonas Brothers were staying inside of the Trump International Plaza (a true "sign of the times") located next door, so it was really hard to find parking in that area (that's right Daddy Dave really enjoys driving in NYC and he's very good at it and good at finding parking spaces there too.). Mommy Angelica was waiting for Dave and Ella for over an hour inside of the restaurant, so it was very sweet to hear how well our little bundle of joy behaved from "one of the locals". We had dinner at Nobu Next door and met some fellow Ohians after Ella almost kicked over a very expensive bottle of wine on their table. We had a really great time and allowed us to truly connect with each other and realize how lucky and blessed we truly are.
We all happen to like New York!
